Semra Taşdurmazlı was born in Adana/Turkey in 1999. She completed her undergraduate at Yıldız Technical University Molecular Biology and Genetics Department in 2021. During her undergraduate, she was supported by the Turkey Republic State and TUBITAK 2247-C Intern Researcher Scholarship Program and did her internships at Çukurova University Food Engineering Department, Yildiz Technical University Bioengineering Department, and Çukurova University Department of Medical Genetics. She had a TUBITAK 2209-B Undergraduate Research Project and received a TUBITAK 2242-University Students Research Project Competition award. She started an integrated PhD program at the same institution in 2022 and gained a TUBITAK 2211-A General Domestic Doctorate Scholarship. She has a TUSEB-B Ar-Ge Project, her PhD dissertation project, named "In vivo detection of MRSA-induced myositis infection with labeled recombinant phage receptor binding protein and treatment with phagotherapeutic approach" under Tulin Ozbek's supervision. She got a COST STSM grant and worked in the Bacteriophage Biotechnology Laboratory Center of Biological Engineering University of Minho (2023). She took part as a researcher in six different national projects so far. Her research areas are bacteriophage characterization, and producing phage-based structures for bacterial diagnosis.
