Hande Hançer was born in 1996 in Istanbul, Turkey. She graduated from Istanbul University, Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics in 2020. During her undergraduate education, she participated in the BAP project titled Investigation of microRNA expression in Arabidopsis thaliana plants under combined nitrogen starvation and drought stress. She also did an internship at Pharmavision Industry and Trade Inc. Microbiology Laboratory and Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Medical Genetics, Molecular Genetics Laboratory. She completed her master's degree at Yıldız Technical University, Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics in 2022, which she started in 2020. During her graduate studies, she conducted research on phage lytic protein production and antibacterial properties against Staphylococcus aureus. At the same time, she got the TUBITAK 2210-A Domestic Graduate Scholarship. She also participated in TUBITAK 1001 and TUSEB projects as a scholarship holder. In 2022, she started her PhD program at Yıldız Technical University, Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics. She got the TUBITAK 2211-A General Domestic Doctoral Scholarship. Her research areas are genetic engineering, recombinant protein production and microbiology.
